I’ve not read this article since I wrote it over a year ago - I don’t like the language I use in it or the way I focus so much on ‘identity’ as a concept. I wasn’t that openly gender critical at the time and was trying to be more ‘balanced’ so that any TQ aligned people wouldn’t be put off what I was saying. The group I talk about in that post is what is today Autism Without Echo Chambers, but I originally called it Autism & Identity Q&A. It’s interesting to re-read things I wrote in the beginning as I can see how my stance has changed. It was cringey re-reading that, ha!
It's still well written and interesting. I never quite 'got' the idea of identity. But then I prefer to say 'fellow feeling' instead of 'empathy' because I find it clearer.
